Boho Modern Palm Springs Wedding

When the bride works in visuals for Urban Outfitters and decides to design her wedding herself, you know it’s going to be a good-looking day! Ashley + Chris’ first getaway together as a couple was to Palm Springs, so it made perfect sense for them to choose it as the backdrop for their modern-boho wedding celebration. They incorporated pieces like those decorating their home into the wedding’s design and infused the setting with bright colors (like fuchsia and tangerine) paired with sleek metallic accents to balance things out.

Ash shares, We decided to get married at The Cree Estate  so that we could do all of the visuals ourselves. The estate has lots of different areas on the property that we used for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The first look was definitely one of our most cherished moments… I knew Chris was going to be an emotional wreck and I was so excited to see him. I had a long train and I could tell he could hear me coming. When he finally turned around his eyes were welled up with tears and all we could was hug and say how much we love each other. We both looked to the left and all of the windows to the estate were filled with our bridal party and parents looking through the glass. It was a beautiful moment with friends and family.

Thanks to Nicole Leever for the beautiful photos and big congrats to A + C on a lovely (and perfectly executed) DIY wedding!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Ashley: My favorite part of the day was our first look. It was strange for us to be apart all day and I couldn’t wait to see him. My train made so much noise as I walked towards him, and I could tell he was so nervous. After we finally saw each other we both looked to our left and saw both of our families and all of our bridal parties spying through the estate window.

Chris: It was amazing to sit at dinner at our own separate table with my new wife and look out at all of our family and friends. Everyone looked like they were having as great a time as we were, and all I could think was the rest of the night was going to be an epic dance party.

With Ashley handling the design herself, she needed a solid planner to execute. Courtney from After the Engagement definitely delivered and The Vintage Flower + Exquisite Blooms beautified the setting with their gorgeous floral design.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

My advice for those planning now would be to pick the parts of your day that are really important to you and don’t stress about the rest. For me the overall look was so important, and what I spent the most time on. At some point you have to stop looking at blogs and Pinterest and go with what you initially loved! There’s too many great ideas out there and it’s so easy to confuse yourself.
