The wooden seat extends up to create a frame for the backrest with a hollow centre. This type is upholstered in breathable Gabriel fabric, and the opening in the construction enables the textile to adapt to the sitter’s entire body weight, with the intention of making it a lot more comfortable for extended use. Reinforced cushions give added assistance.

“We needed to use a lot more contemporary shapes, without sharp angles that could be hazardous as the kids increase up,” Marcelo Alegre told Dezeen. “A new rocking chair style – nothing at all like the classic ones, but a item that someone would like to sit on and appreciate these intimate moments with their child.”

“The concept originated from a individual want,” said Alegre. “We created Nana when my colleague Andrés and I watched our wives breastfeed our young children in areas that have been not nicely made.”

“We checked the market and realised that there was not a nursing chair that took into account the position, resources and shapes for this kind of intimate moments among mom and kid,” he additional. “There has always been a huge development of products for the child, but really handful of merchandise for mums.”
