Jessica and Casey were married in a scenic ceremony with a barn reception at Pine River Ranch. “Set on 22 private acres in Leavenworth, WA, our venue gave us the privacy and relaxed feeling that we were looking for,” says the bride. They booked nearby cabins for family and friends and filled their day with personalized details that celebrated their love for each other and those close to them. Lovely, relaxed details were the name-of-the-game with planning and gorgeous florals by Stacy Anderson Design. And, we’re loving the cobalt blue they introduced into their rustic color palette—it’s unexpected and so fun. Lucky for us, Kate Price Photography captured it all!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Our wedding venue played a huge part in why our wedding was so memorable. Set on 22 private acres in Leavenworth, WA, our venue gave us the privacy and relaxed feeling that we were looking for. We rented out the venue for both Friday and Saturday, secured nearby cabins for our family and bridal party and spent the entire weekend celebrating, including a leisurely tube float down the local Wenatchee River.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
Dress shopping was more difficult than I had expected. After a few failed attempts to find a dress, my mom and I booked an appointment at The Dress Theory in Seattle, WA. I wasn’t looking for a traditional wedding dress and loved the selection they offered. After a few dresses my stylist pulled a Claire Pettibone dress and I fell in love. As soon as I had it on both my mom and I knew it was THE ONE. The back of the dress was so fun, the fabric unbelievably soft, and most importantly it was comfortable.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
Our family and friends are a huge part of our lives and we wanted to include them as much as possible. To do so, we decided against a few of the more traditional wedding activities and instead incorporated some fun details that we knew our wedding quests would love, including an instrumental version of the Titanic song “My Heart Will Go On”, played by two of our amazing groomsmen (an inside joke among our friends) and a champagne toast with Miller High Life, the champagne of beers.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
In our minds, nothing can beat the ceremony! With such a beautiful backdrop, our family and friends all around us, and that feeling you have when you walk down the aisle… it couldn’t have gone better. We were lucky enough to have one of the best people we know act as our officiant. She did an amazing job incorporating our words with hers and we can’t thank her enough for being such a huge part of our day. We made the choice to write our own vows and are so glad that we did. It added a personal touch to the ceremony and is something we will never forget.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
We met in Bellingham, WA at a little Italian restaurant in the Fairhaven district where we both worked for a short. We dated for about 6 months before school and work eventually led us to separate cities. A year later, both in the same city, and in an abandoned parking lot in downtown Seattle, we decided to give it another shot. A few years later, Casey proposed in that same parking lot. He lit up the structures with strings of white lights and had all of our best friends waiting nearby to help celebrate the good news.
