I’ve taken a handful of preferred photos more than the years of flowers and nature and I needed to show them around the home. I enjoy the seem of painterly prints so rather of just framing an enlarged version of the photograph, I experimented in Photoshop Elements, producing watercolor art with 1 of the tools… wait for it… the Watercolor Filter!

I took this photo of the seashore in Bodega near our house on a preferred outing a handful of many years in the past, I constantly loved the light, the detail, the colour, the memory! But I wanted to give it a a lot more painterly good quality prior to framing it.

So I attempted out the Watercolor Filter in Photoshop Factors and I liked that result a small much better. It developed a richer colour and far more detail I was searching for. If you’re a Photoshop wiz then you know this is a awesome tool, if you’ve never played about in Photoshop prior to this is another exciting way to give your pictures that watercolor effect and it’s really basic, use the dropdown Filter application and pick Artistic –&gt Watercolor.

I tried the identical Watercolor Filter with yet another favored photo of tulips in vases on my mantel from a few years ago.

This one particular came out a bit as well muddy about the edges of the flowers and leaves so I used the Color Picker Tool to sample colors and the Oil Little Tip in the Brushes library to soften the edges and blur some of the detail amongst the petals, stems, etc with brushstrokes. I like that you can zoom in and touchup your images in this way.

I employed the Watercolor Filter again with this photo of a bunch of lavender gathered from my backyard, and also experimented with the Brightness/Contrast and Hue Tools to increase the saturation a bit, improving the purple tones to make them pop out a lot more.

I like that the prints are now a cross among a photograph and watercolor artwork, with a painterly appear. These prints and 3 other people are available for sale in my Society6 store.
