There were so many fun elements in our Southern-inspired Spring BBQ, and these paper products that Rock Paper Scissors created were some of our favorites! Dani was awesome to work with, and so helpful in bringing our vision to life. We drew our inspiration from vintage seed packets and a very special seasonal spring fruit—strawberries! Providing real strawberry seeds for our guests to take home and plant made the favor even more meaningful.

Rock Paper Scissors made it even easier for you to make these seed packets yourself, with a free printable of her seed packet design. Download the seed packet PDF HERE. We’ve left the label blank, so that you can hand-write your guests’ names. Wouldn’t these be great for escort cards or place cards? Thanks so much to Rock Paper Scissors for taking us through this fun DIY!

MS Residence by Studio Arthur Casas:

“This summerhouse near São Paulo was developed for a couple with 3 grown-up daughters. It had to conciliate the dichotomy between framing astonishing views to a golf program and woods in direction of the dark south and in search of abundant light on the street side, towards north. The resolution was to organize the spaces following the latitudinal axis of the plot in a method that would offer framed views to the landscape and bring the sunlight altogether.

The house is divided in two sections: on one particular side there are 4 bedrooms for the daughters and visitors. They open in direction of a long corridor with a glass wall facing south and are protected by wooden louvers in front of a dense garden facing north. On the other side, social areas type a single single widespread area integrated with the surrounding context. The dry climate of the region led to the creation of a tiny pond that embraces the property. It is 50 centimeters deep, containing fishes and plants ready to preserve the water naturally clean. Several rocks generate a particularly astonishing atmosphere and element of the pond was deepened to be utilised as a swimming pool.

The wood flooring in the private areas is replaced by rough stone in the typical locations. The residing area has a high wood ceiling of three.six meters that brings warmth to the house and extends to the outdoors, connecting interior and exterior. A lower wooden volume subsequent to the residing space holds a powder space and a cellar. The horizontality of the area is highlighted by a succession of layouts that comprehend an entrance hall, a living room with a hearth and a dining room, all along the exterior terrace. A constant zenithal slit that lightens the opposite side of the area is a technical prowess with no beams crossing its path. The connection between both spaces is enhanced by glass doors that slide inside of the walls and disappear from view. Further, next to this room, a gourmet kitchen and a home theater can also be integrated via sliding walls. Outside, the wooden deck conceals a Jacuzzi beneath the floor. Up coming to it, a ground hearth created of stone stands as the excellent spot for gathering on clear nights.

The stairs that lead to the master suite and the atelier on the very first floor gets a sculpture with its floating measures underneath a large glass ceiling, transforming the atrium into a courtyard. The volume of this floor, covered with vertical wood louvers of distinct widths, contrasts with the lengthy horizontal lines of the brick walls of the first floor. The rusticity of the house is highlighted by the washed tones of the bricks, enjoying with the shadows below the powerful tropical light. All the frames employed in glass doors and windows are extremely narrow, with a two cm (.80 in) square section, turning out to be nearly imperceptible, even when closed.

The interior design and style result in an modern composition that allies sturdy and iconic American operates with discrete Italian furnishings. Sculptor Michael Coffey handcrafted a bespoken set of dining table and chairs in a lengthy method that lasted 8 months, working with wood trunks. Icons by Paul Evans, Warren Platner and Richard Schultz share the area with neutral patterns by Paola Lenti.

The color palette employed seeks orange and terracotta tones discovered in the surrounding landscape. It reconciles the warmth of the wood with the freshness of the stone. Materials such as the striped cushions and the Nepalese carpet in the residing room highlight the effort to create an environment that transits from becoming monochromatic to enjoying with earthly tones. Antiques and artworks from the clients’ collection, such as ceramic plates by Picasso and Burle Marx, give a ultimate touch to the cozy ambiances.”
