Bruno Mattress delivered in a box

Have you guys noticed that there seems to be a real revolution going on in the world of mattresses? Mattress shopping used to be a really confusing, arduous and not particularly exciting task. There were far too many things to take into consideration for a start, such as mattress firmness, type, materials and price. The purchasing process would often involve visiting a retailer and doing the embarrassing bed hop while you awkwardly attempt to lie on mattress after mattress trying to deduce in a few short minutes whether this mattress would be the one to help you get a good night’s sleep. Well this no longer has to be the case due to a number of new companies that are transforming the mattress market. One such company is Bruno, a German start-up that has successfully been supplying mattresses to the German, French, Austrian and Dutch markets since 2014. Founded by Felix Baer and Andreas Bauer, Bruno Mattress has now launched in the UK and is hoping to win over the hearts of British consumers too.

Headquartered in Berlin, Bruno was founded with the goal of creating the perfect high quality mattress designed to support all types of sleepers. What they deem to be “the perfect sleeping surface” is made from the highest quality materials that have been sourced in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way possible. The mattress is comprised of an ergonomic 7-zone support layer, a 3cm thick covering made from 100% natural latex, and a quilted cover top which can be completely removed and is machine washable. For me, a removable cover is a real bonus, especially considering the fact that many people have the same mattress for 5-10 years in some cases.

Orthopaedic experts were consulted throughout the development of the ergonomically-tested design and the mattress also benefits from the ingenuity of German based manufacturing. However, the mattresses aren’t entirely machine manufactured. There is a firm commitment to using real human labour in the production process which has earned the Bruno Mattress the Deustches Manufakturen-Siegel (German Manufacturing Certification) which stipulates that at least 50% of the production process must be completed by hand in Germany.

Like many of the other start-up mattress companies, Bruno is also able to offer its mattresses at an affordable price thanks to the elimination of unnecessary costs associated with selling a mattress in a traditional store. Because the mattresses are only available online, customers are able to save 30% to 40%.

The Bruno mattress comes carefully rolled and vacuum packed allowing it to be delivered in a comparatively small box, which is not only easier to manoeuvre around your home on delivery but also enables Bruno to cut its carbon footprint by being able to use up less space in postal vans. Good news all round I say!

If you are not yet convinced that ordering a mattress online is the way forward, Bruno has reduced the risk for you by offering 30 nights to test your mattress. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied, you can simply email them and they will arrange for the return and you will receive a full refund. It’s a no brainer really, don’t you think?
